The counselor Miriam Guardiola meets with members of the citizen platform 'Mula por su castillo'
The regional government reaffirms its commitment to the recovery and enhancement of the Mula Castle.
Through the Ministry of Tourism and Culture has financed the Master Plan for this emblematic construction of the sixteenth century, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, to which in the last two years almost 390,000 euros have been allocated from regional budgets.
Some investments on which informed the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Miriam Guardiola, during the meeting held today with members of the citizen platform 'Mule for your castle'.
The head of Culture said that "the regional government reaffirms its commitment to Castillo, since the regional administration is the one that has contributed the most to its recovery and will continue to do so."
The Master Plan of the Mula Castle, whose wording has had a budget of 64,800 euros, has been prepared by the architect Isabel Bestué Cardiel.
The document proposes a series of actions, in the short and long term, to restore the building and in the future it can be visited.
The Master Plan is the essential tool for any future action of conservation and enhancement of this Renaissance castle of great value and importance within the fortifications of the national territory.
It is also the benchmark for any intervention by the central government within the framework of the National Fortification Plan of the Institute of Cultural Heritage of Spain, "in the same way that it increases the possibilities when it comes to obtaining aid to finance conservation works of real estate properties of the Spanish Historical Heritage that are granted within the program of '1.5% Cultural' of the Ministry of Development, "he explained.
In this sense, the counselor pointed out that they have asked the State to support their involvement in the recovery. "
In addition, this document marks the actions of an urgent nature that are planned to be carried out soon and that will guarantee security in some sectors of the fortified enclosure.
In this regard, the section of the wall that is located on the northeast side of the Albacar site, at its eastern end, is a priority.
Emergency works
It is a steep slope, dominated by limestone rocks and loamy soils that intermingle generating a very fragmentary type of surface and in which rock breakage and the washing of the marly grass are common, to which is added the type of slope that dominates on the outside of the wall.
There is an almost vertical terrain that weakens the general situation of preserved wall paintings.
Once the damages have been identified, the emergency works, which will be carried out by the General Directorate of Cultural Assets, are aimed at reversing the danger of collapse and detachment of parts of the calicostrada earth walls, as well as to minimize the future deterioration of the wall. .
In the new actions a total of 189,479 euros will be invested (96,433 euros for the direct execution of part of the works and a new subsidy for the town hall of 93,046 euros).
An amount that adds to the 199.888 euros budgeted in 2017 by the Community and that allowed, among other actions, to carry out the Master Plan of the Mula Castle, which is the road map for its recovery.
