The Civil Guard detained two people for committing robberies and thefts on farms in the Northwest and Mula River (29/02/2016)

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'PUEBLANA' framed 'Plan against agricultural and livestock subtractions', which has resulted in the location and arrest of two people engaged in harvesting citrus farms of Northwest regions and Rio Mula.

So far it clarified the subtraction of half a ton of lemons on a farm in Mula, although the authorship of those arrested in more criminal acts committed on farms in the area is not ruled out.

Civil Guards Team ROCA (fighting equipment Theft in the field) began the operation last January to investigate several crimes of theft of agricultural products on farms in the counties of Northwest and Mula River, which had been stolen citrus, especially lemons and oranges.

The Civil Guard initiated the investigation conducting extensive visual inspections in places where they were committing the acts that were happening in a short time, in order to collect all possible clues about how they were carried out and their authors.

Thanks to the cooperation of citizens and the first indications obtained, the Civil Guard identified several people who could be behind the facts and assailing the farms broad daylight, usually in the morning, and gathered the fruit very quickly and expertise.

They are taking security measures

The developed research shows that the authors of the robberies were very careful in their criminal activity in order to avoid detection by both the owners of the farms as by the security forces.

Its activity began with the selection of the farm and preferences the next farms were set at Northwest Highway (RM-15) to facilitate a quick escape in case of detection.

After obtaining all necessary evidence, the Civil Guard has identified, located and arrested two people for their connection to the theft of farm products in the town of Mula.

So far, detainees are attributed the alleged authorship of the crime of theft, the theft of half a ton of lemons from a farm in the municipality of Mula, although the investigation remains open not ruling out that they may have committed more robberies in the zone.

Researchers have found that the now detained citrus subtracted in order to sell them illegally to shops and dining of Caravaca de la Cruz, some acquisitions that could incur a crime of receiving.

The Spaniards arrested, 46 and 51 years, residents of Caravaca de la Cruz, and one of them with a history of similar offenses, together with the proceedings initiated have been made available to the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Mula (Murcia)
