The PSOE asks the regional government for economic support, promotion and promotion of the National Days of Exaltation of the Drum and Mud Bombo, in collaboration with the City Council (07/11/2017)

The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Choni Ludeña has filed a motion in the Regional Assembly in which she calls on the Governing Council to adopt measures of economic support, promotion and promotion of the National Days of Exaltation of the Drum and Bombo de Mula, in collaboration with the City Council of Mula.

It also requests support and recognition from the Mula City Council and the Drummers Association of Mula in the celebration of the thirty-third edition of the National Days of Exaltation of Drum and Drum, to be held in March 2018 in Mula.

The next month of March the city of Mula will host for the third time the XXXIII National Days of Exaltation of Drum and Drum.

Mula will become, for a few days, the capital of the drum and the drum that will be attended by thousands of drummers and drummers from all over the country.

Choni Ludeña argues that the Semana Santa de Mula has a popular tradition, the Tamborrada, which distinguishes it together with Moratalla and recently incorporated Jumilla from the rest of celebrations in the Region of Murcia.

This tradition, which dates back to the middle of the 19th century, has meant that the drum is not a simple percussion instrument to become a tradition and symbol that identifies the city of Mula and makes the Region at that time a national tourist destination.

"Talking about Mula is talking about the drum during Holy Week." If there is a singular night in Mula, it is the Night of the Drums, which does not stop sounding in the town from Holy Tuesday at 12 in the morning until Holy Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. 4 in the afternoon, "he said.

The socialist deputy recalled that in 1983 the drum and the drum went a step further "and evolved to become an emblem of friendship and harmony, of rapprochement between peoples with the same tradition that until now were almost unknown."

It was in this city - he adds - on September 18, 1983, when a group of muleños, led by former socialist mayor Diego Cervantes Díaz, decided to bring together all the peoples of Spain with a common and specific link in their cultural tradition: the touch of the drum.

With the title of "1st Sample of the Drum" an encounter with neighbors of different localities was organized in Mula, being the embryo of what later became known as National Days of Exaltation of the Drum and the Drum.

Ludeña said that "it is about supporting and recognizing from the Regional Assembly the traditions that distinguish our peoples, roots that make us different and value the cultural richness of our land."

For this reason, on March 9, 10 and 11, Mula and the Region of Murcia will receive a multitude of drummers and drummers from all over Spain, as well as representatives of the towns that make up the National Drum and Drum Consortium.
