Move for diabetes (03/11/2012)

The next Sunday, November 4, ADIRMU, Murciana Association for Diabetes Care, organizes hiking trail "Move for Diabetes" in the town of Mula, to promote healthy habits such as exercise and good nutrition , and so can get to avoid obesity, and therefore new cases of diabetes.

Be open to all people who want it, as it is a route with little difficulty, designed for the whole family and friends ADIRMU.

ADIRMU organizes hiking trail "Move for Diabetes" to engage people with diabetes, their families and friends, and all people who want to take care and avoid diseases like diabetes, blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides, ... If we keep a healthy weight, avoiding obesity, we discourage this type of chronic disease.

The next meeting is Sunday, November 4, at 10:00 am in the park FCG in Mula (Murcia).

We detail the route of this path, which also held a talk on the benefits of physical activity, to encourage participants to perform a continuous exercise, as well as promoting healthy eating based on the Mediterranean Diet.

ADIRMU is a nonprofit entity, declared of public utility, working since 1983 to improve the quality of life of people with diabetes, especially with children and youth.

Also focuses much of its efforts on preventing new cases of diabetes in the Region of Murcia.

Description of the route

The Path of Time takes place within the municipality of Mula, in urban and suburban city, connecting several areas of natural, cultural and landscape.

It is a journey that can be done in both directions and has its start and end in the Northwest Greenway, becoming a circular path.

Whether you begin the journey up to the cemetery of La Puebla de Mula like we do at the junction of Gran Via with Alternative Mula, at the height of the Camino de la Tejera, cycle a total of 7.5 km.

If we decided to start from the Graveyard of Puebla, at its height, take a dirt road to the left that leads us into the garden of Mula.

After traveling 700 m.

arrived at the intersection of Highway Yechar - Mula, which pass through a passage created for this purpose, taking the Camino de la Cierva Swamp.

Once on the road, after traveling 500 m.

we find the Roman site of The Villaricos.

After seeing the site, return to the Swamp Road, traveling another 250 m., Before turning to the left and take a dirt road up to the old butane tank.

This path runs through the hamlet of Arreaque, by the cliff overlooking the river Mula.

The distance of this section is 1200 m.

In this path have a chance to make two stops, with two balconies, one to view the entire Shire of Mula and the second before linking with the old way where we can contemplate the deposits of The Cigarralejo Plomera Stone remains of a villa Roman and the place of Trascastillo.

We continue our journey through the old road called Yechar, where a road was spent in Roman times.

The road is unpaved and winding so we returned back to the Mula river bed.

This section presents a distance of 900 m.

Before arriving at the connection to the area and the street Pontarrón Salitre, and in the town of Mula, we took a newly created path to the right of way.

The path is made by the side of Trascastillo Under, between an area of ​​pines until it joins the Senda del Albacar, after traveling 220 m.
