Conclude the Second Conference on Road Safety Education targeted at primary school in the municipality (12/03/2010)

The aim of this conference is to promote driver education and attitudes that affect the prevention of traffic accidents

The mayor of Mula, Diego Cervantes Diaz, accompanied by the Provincial Director of Transport, Francisco Javier Jiménez Jiménez, Head of Road Safety, Máiquez Giménez and Francisco Chief of Police Local Mula, Bedia Fidel Castillo, have been closed II Driver Education Days in the town of Mula for pupils of primary schools in Mula and hamlets.

This conference, which began last January, are organized by the departments of Public Safety, Education and Youth and have the invaluable collaboration of the local police Mula, responsible for providing theoretical and practical classes and different companies locality, among which are some of the driving schools in the municipality.

The aim of this conference is to promote road safety education and attitudes of respect which impact on the prevention of traffic accidents in order that young people understand and appreciate the values and standards of living to learn to act under them .

During the theoretical part of the conference, officials have focused particularly on knowledge of the natural environment, social and cultural, travel and transportation, responsibility for compliance with basic rules as pedestrians and users, the importance of mobility in everyday life and respect for road mobility rules also identify the causes and risk groups in traffic accidents such as pedestrians, passengers, cyclists, among other issues.

These lectures have had as well, with the collaboration of schools with the development of various workshops and activities to be conducted in conjunction with the lectures and teaching materials donated by the General Directorate of Traffic and Power Point presentations and video made by the local police.

This year also has given a talk on road safety education, aimed at parents of these students, framed within the Education Program for Health and is part of various activities to involve parents in curriculum developed by schools.

The practical sessions have taken place in a circuit that simulates the various signals and situations that young people can be when they move their bikes or go with their parents in the car and that has given the Traffic Department.

These have led to the nearly 500 students in grades 5 and Primary 6 in the municipality.

Staff assigned to teach classes were satisfied with the outcome of these latter days, and the practice of highlighting that children have shown the same doubts that have the elderly, especially when entering and leaving of roundabouts.

The conference culminated with a test between the top 32 participants of various colleges of which have resulted in several winners who will receive various gifts and a diploma for participants.

Also, next Sunday is an activity driver education practice aimed at a group of children Diagram Foundation visit the village.

Since the session Mülenen and Local Police are still demanding the creation of a fixed circuit Mula as that used during these sessions is transferred from the General Directorate of Traffic, with the aim of which is to carry out activities related to road safety education throughout the year, since this assignment is limited to a certain number of students.

In this sense, representatives of local driving schools have shown interest to work openly in future editions of this conference with lectures and visits to driving schools, among other activities.
