The Spanish Film Week XXII Mule pays tribute to Francisco Algora and José Luis López Vázquez (03/06/2010)

This edition features the new section 'film set Murcia', where we will review films have been shot in the Region

The Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, today and projected activities taking place in Mula occasion of the celebration of the Spanish Film Week XXII and XVII National Short Film Competition to be held from 6 to 12 June that, on this occasion, he paid special tribute to actor Francisco Algora, and the now defunct José Luis López Vázquez.

Martinez was accompanied by the councilman of Youth council of Mula, José Ángel Díaz, regional president of the CAM, Angel Martinez, President of the Cine-Club Chomón Second, Martín del Toro, as well as the poster of the Week Manolo Coronado and the authors of the publication of the same, Pascual Vera and Jose de Paco.

Martinez said "the value of the exhibits and especially the great number of activities that run parallel to the competition and puts Mula available in Spanish cinema."

Next to the Film Week is the National Short Film Competition, which this year celebrates its seventeenth anniversary, and in which there have been more than a hundred films in competition, among them, they have been selected 12.

The short format is 35 mm, a Spanish national, maximum of 30 minutes and produced in 2009 or 2010.

The awards consist of a Jury Prize of 4,000 euros and a trophy; Mansermula Special Jury Award, with 2,000 euros and a trophy; Epona Award for best animated short and offered by Antares Productions, with 2,000 euros and a trophy; Young Award with $ 1,000 ; Award for best actor, best actress, best screenplay, director and photography, all with a trophy for the winners.

The short film competition jury is chaired by actress Merçe Llorens and will include the collaboration of film critics, actors and people involved in the film world and culture, among which are: Pedro Quiles, Pascual Vera, José de Paco , María Luisa San José and José María Conget, Zaragoza journalist, film critic and former Head of Cultural Activities of the Instituto Cervantes in New York.

These sections are supplemented by film screenings at the Teatro Lope de Vega in paragraph overview and that will be broadcast every evening from 20:30.

Some of the projections are 'Let them die the ugly' on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6, 'Paper Bird' on Monday 7, 'The secret of your eyes' on Tuesday 8, 'The evil alien' on Wednesday 9 'The Widows of Thursday' on Thursday 10 and "unresolved sexual tension 'on Friday 11.

Prior to each film will be screened short films that have been selected in the competition so they can be viewed by fans and is voted the winner of special award short of the public.

In addition, we will review films have been shot in the Region of Murcia in a new section of this edition under the title Murcia film set.

Will also show movies school morning for the town, on Monday 7 'Friend Zone' and 'Planet 51' on Tuesday 8 and Friday 11.

The Film Festival also has a book published this year under the title "Maria Luisa San Jose, body and soul 'and that takes a look at the career of the artist, honored in the last edition of the festival.

The book is presented in the Auditorium of the CAM in Murcia on Monday, 7 to 19:00 pm and Friday July 11 at 19:00 pm in the Auditorium of the Asylum of Mula.
