The Segura basin (CHS) continues its commitment to the society as a whole Segura Basin involved in maintenance of river ecosystems in Southeast Spanish, as shown in the conservation project Perea Rambla, in Mula central theme of the exhibition that opened Mula Mayor, Diego Cervantes, and the president of the basin organization, Charo Quesada.
This project, included in the Rivers Volunteer Program of the Ministry of Environment and Rural and Marine Affairs, has been executed by the Intercultural Association Gallery between November 2009 and January 2010 with a budget of nearly 25,000 euros.
The main activities of this project have been the publication of an environmental guide to the promenade, the environmental performance of a route in the source area Caputa-El Ardal open to the public as a means of approach to the population, elimination of graffiti in Caputa Source environment, and development of the exhibition, held in the framework of the First Week of the Environment of Mula, especially aimed at schools, developed by experts from the Department of Environment Mülenen Consistory.
The exhibition is installed in the Exhibition Hall of the Municipal Library Square Asylum in Mula, and she has assisted municipal representatives of the CHS, the Intercultural Association Gallery, mountaineer club Mula, Mula Scouts, Naturalist Group and The Cigarralejo.
The CHS is a major player in the National River Restoration, in which the volunteer program is one tool that gives possibility to society to participate actively in the improvement of natural areas.
Volunteering Rios was born in 2007 with four organizations in the Segura basin, up to ten current partnerships.
The program allows wide range of activities such as riparian restoration, cleaning trash and debris, inventories of fauna and flora, and outreach activities such as lectures, excursions or publication of books and papers, among others.
