A motion in support of the Youth of the Region of Murcia in the face of the crisis by COVID-19 is approved before the Plenary (29/05/2020)

Laura Salas, Councilor for Youth of the City of Mula defended yesterday before an extraordinary and urgent plenary session, a motion with support measures for youth in the Region of Murcia in the face of the crisis caused by COVID-19.This motion urges the Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia to approve a regional Youth Shock Plan and adopt rescue measures for the youth of the Region of Murcia in the face of the crisis caused by COVID-19 and, in Specifically, it develops a series of measures:1.

To approve a Youth Housing and Emancipation Plan in the Region of Murcia that includes aid for emancipation and rental of housing.2.

Implement a reduced rate for youth and students on regional public transport, as well as the creation of a Regional Transport Voucher.3.

Strengthen the whole of the employment and training system, in order to provide it with greater mechanisms for hiring unemployed youth.4.

To develop a Plan to Combat the Digital Divide, in collaboration with the City Councils and Departments of Education, which ensures that all students in the Region have the necessary resources to continue their training electronically under conditions of equality with the rest of students.5.

Facilitate access to the Internet for students with the fewest resources so that their educational training is not conditioned.6.

To approve a drop in university fees in order to reduce the financial pressure on young people and their families, which may see their economic situation diminished by the labor scenario.7.

Help cultural reintegration: Lower prices for cinema, theater or create vouchers or discounts to encourage youth participation.8.

Reinforce, through specific plans, the situations of psychological violence and prevention of gender violence among young women and men.9.

Make available the CARM shelter for people who suffer homo, trans or biphobia in their residences or other places so that these people can be in a safe place and that they are not hostile due to their sexual orientation.
