Mula presents eight proposals for tourism sustainability to the Sierra Espuña Territory Plan selected by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism (01/10/2020)

| The municipalities of the Commonwealth will have 2,750,000 euros of which 470,000 will go to the municipality of Mula that will contribute on 20 percent | The proposals presented aim to optimize resources for visitors and beautify the Historic ComplexThe Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism has selected the Sierra Espuña Territory Tourism Sustainability Plan from among 154 proposals submitted by the autonomous communities as one of the 25 sustainability plans that reinforce the quality and sustainability of tourist destinations from the point of view of social, economic and environmental view.The Sierra Espuña Territory Plan has been prepared by the Sierra Espuña Tourist Services Association, made up of the municipalities of Alhama de Murcia, Aledo, Totana, Librilla, Pliego and Mula, a Plan agreed upon by all its members, which complies with all the requirements that the call that the Ministry demanded, and that, among other aspects, contemplates improving the state of conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of this destination, as well as optimizing the quality of the services offered to tourists that generate business and employment .The City Council of Mula has presented, within this plan, eight proposals to develop in the municipality of Mula and its districts, a series of measures that seek to optimize resources for visitors and continue working on the beautification of the Historic Complex and its tourist resources .The investment planned for the development of the Sierra Espuña Territory Plan amounts to 2,750,000 euros between the six municipalities, of which the contribution of the municipalities will be 20 percent and the remaining 80 percent will be financed at 40 percent by the Ministry and the Autonomous Community.The proposals presented are: adaptation of the Municipal Shelter to the new regulations for shelters in the Region of Murcia; reform of the Mula Tourist Office; creation of a motorhome area in the hamlet of Casas Nuevas; musealization and improvement of the accessibility of the Los Villaricos site; conditioning, accesses, perimeter fencing and door of the Abrigo del Milano; beautification and homogenization of urban furniture in the Historic Complex; intelligent tourist signage for the Historic Center of Mula; and performance of the Archaeological Park of Castillo de Mula: Senda del Albacar.
