Presentation of the exhibition «1520. Work in progress »- The Ciudad de Mula National Outdoor Painting Contest has been canceled (24/10/2020)

The current health and economic crisis has led the City Council, organizer of the event, to suspend this year's appointment scheduled for the second weekend of November.The councilors of Tourism and Culture, Alejandra Martínez and Diego Boluda, respectively, together with the local artist and coordinator of the event, Nono García, announced today the cancellation of this outdoor cultural event that year after year brings together in the municipality about a Hundreds of artists who, arrived from all over the country, reflect the tourist and heritage resources of the city of Mula in a contest sponsored by the City Council and various establishments and businesses in Mule.The National Outdoor Painting Competition is one of the few outdoor painting competitions that have been active for so long on the national scene.

Together with the artists who come to Mula, the event brings together an important arrival of tourists and visitors who, together with the rest of the activities that are usually organized around the contest, make Mula the tourist and cultural center during that day.

Activities that this year cannot be held due to this second wave of coronavirus infections that these weeks are affecting the Region of Murcia and the rest of the country.'1520.

Work in process'With the intention that the month of November continues to be linked to painting in Mula, from the Department of Culture and, with the coordination of Nono García, an exhibition of painting and photography has been organized framed around the commemorative events of the V Centenary del Castillo de Mula and which will be open during this month of November in the Convent of San Francisco under the title '1520.

Work in process' shows the vision of 18 artists, 9 of them Muleño photographers and painters and 9 renowned artists from all over the Region, of Castillo de Mula.

The exhibition shows, through the particular vision of the artists, the Muleña fortress and will be a great tourist attraction for the coming months.
