Interdepartmental meeting of the City Council to establish projects for the Extraordinary European Fund Covid-19 (24/11/2020)

| They must meet parameters of ecological transition, social cohesion and digital training, all of them related to the circular green economy and creation of jobs | The castle, the high neighborhoods, the improvement of municipal buildings and water management are some of the proposals on which the City Council worksThe mayor of Mula, Juan Jesús Moreno, has participated together with the councilors of Urbanism, Francisco Javier Llamazares, Hacienda, Alejandra Martínez, Municipal Services, Vicente López and the technicians of these areas and Historical Heritage in an interdepartmental meeting to determine some of the projects that the Mula City Council is currently working on and establish which of these projects could benefit from the Covid-19 Extraordinary European Funds that will be activated in a short period of time for municipalities and other public bodies, including the autonomous communities, and that will be approved by request of projects in competitive competition.The evaluation of the projects is established initially because they comply with the parameters of ecological transition, social cohesion and digital training, all of them related to the circular green economy and the creation of jobs.Among some of the proposals discussed during the meeting and that pose advanced documentation to qualify for these funds is the rehabilitation and improvement of municipal buildings to improve energy efficiency and accessibility of sports facilities such as pavilions and heated swimming pool, or administrative buildings, in this case the rehabilitation of the current City Hall building.Another of the projects that could be accepted is the Castle's Master Plan, a document that has already been drawn up and with some phases of timing of action per year.

In the same way, also the document corresponding to the Kairós Project, prepared between the City Council and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, for the rehabilitation of uptown neighborhoods that proposes seven concrete actions to improve mobility and accessibility in uptown neighborhoods could be part of the proposals.Water management, with the completion of the general collectors of the city and the adaptation for the use of rainwater for irrigation of parks and cleaning of streets is another of the actions that have advanced projects and that comply with the requirements of the proposal.Infrastructures, lighting, sustainable projects and digitization as well as the launch of new hiking routes complete the proposals on which the details are being finalized from the different areas involved.Next CARM strategyIn the same way, the Department of Urbanism of the City of Mula has participated today in a technical conference with the General Director of Strategy and Digital Transformation of the Autonomous Community, Joaquín Gómez, to agree with the Community on actions likely to attract European funds from this Fund Extraordinary Covid-19 and integrating the municipality into the Next CARM regional strategy, an initiative through which transformative projects that are committed to the green economy and digitization will be defined and designed and that help to promote the Region of the future.These transformation projects will be incorporated into the Regional Plan that will be sent to the central government so that it can assess them and take them into account in the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan that the State will send in turn to Europe and that will articulate the distribution of the European fund ' Next Generation '.
