The Mula City Council urges the Regional and National administration to establish aid measures for the hospitality sector creating a true Support Plan for this sector that is suffering such serious consequences during this health crisis. The hotel sector in the Region of Murcia is encompassed, mainly by small and medium-sized companies that employ thousands of workers and that bring together dozens of companies indirectly to provide their services. The temporary closure measures to which they have been forced are undoubtedly painful and harsh.

Measures that have been established with scrupulous monitoring of epidemiological and health reports and following the scientific recommendations of experts, but, together with these measures, all administrations, and now more than ever, have the obligation to make available to the hospitality sector the necessary and sufficient measures to protect the sector. The City Council of Mula establishes the following measures to help the sector, such as creating and financially providing a wide range for the promotion and promotion of the hospitality sector in the 2021 budget, reducing the rate of garbage collection during, at least, the first semester of 2021, to reduce the regulatory ordinance of the occupancy rate of land for public use, at least the first semester of 2021.By unanimous agreement of all municipal groups, they request various measures to help the sector from the Regional Government, including: Aid to self-employed workers and small and medium-sized companies in the hospitality sector affected by the crisis; direct aid for business maintenance and compensation for losses caused by the decreed closure; aid to workers in the hospitality sector affected by the reduction of workforce andtheir companies; investment in reconversion, adaptation and improvement of hotel resources and services; as well as campaigns to promote the image of the hotel industry in the Region of Murcia. In the same way, they urge the Government of the Nation to implement a National Rescue Plan for the Hotel Industry with: Non-refundable aid for hoteliers that have been forced to close temporarily as a result of this second wave and an injection of liquidity that help them to maintain their business during the time they have no income, mainly to cover the payment of rent, fees, business-related loans, perishable products and other fees and taxes, during the time they cannot continue their activity for reasons of the pandemic; application of the super reduced VAT to the hospitality sector; extend ERTEs and aid for cessation of activity until at least May 2021, without prejudice to possible extensions depending on the evolution of the economy in the affected sectors;moratorium and tax exemption for companies without income while the state of alarm is in effect; extend the flat rate for six months to all self-employed hoteliers who are covered by it.It is also requested to equalize the guarantees and legal certainty established in the MeCuida Plan for employed workers to self-employed hospitality workers, in such a way that they can access in similar conditions to care for the family if, due to Covid, was necessary. From the City council they ask that the contributions to the Social Security of the independent workers of the hotel trade be reduced; rental aid plan for hoteliers who are forced to close their activity and progressive for those who suffer other restrictions; creation of an ICO line to help pay rent; creation of a new liquidity line for ICO loans that can be used to refinance debts; reduction by half of the surcharges for non-payment of Social Security contributions and the payment of personal income tax while the state of alarm is in force and attend to the special situation of hoteliers with awareness and promotion campaigns for the return to activity. These measures could help the sector to go through this crisis looking to the future and without mortgaging thousands of families for life who have seen how an important sector such as the hospitality industry has been so marked by the health pandemic.
