The width of the platform of the track has been increased throughout the section, going from 4.5 meters to 5.8 meters, greatly improving the road safety conditions
The Ministry of Development and Infrastructures completes the expansion and improvement of the firm of the road RM-C2, which connects the districts of La Puebla de Mula and Fuente Librilla, in the municipality of Mula, and whose investment has been 746,233 euros .
The Minister of Development and Infrastructure, Pedro Rivera, visited this morning the road with the mayor of the town, Juan Jesus Moreno, and stressed that "this is an important action that has been carried out in the 16 kilometers that separate the two Pedanias of Mula and that allows to improve the road safety of this highway ".
The main works consisted in increasing the width of the platform of the road up to 1.3 meters, passing from an average width of 4.5 meters to the current 5.8 meters, throughout the section.
In addition, road markings have been painted on the sidebars and the central axis separating the two lanes, one for each direction, and cars and heavy vehicles can circulate, which before the works had difficulty doing so as this is a very narrow.
Work has also been carried out to clean up the firm in the areas of blandones and to extend the existing drainage elements, as well as to apply a triple surface treatment on the firm, and to replace vertical signaling.
The actions carried out are the best solution for this type of road, classified within the regional network as third level, and which circulate about 500 vehicles a day.
Rivera said that "these works are a response to a commitment that the Ministry of Development and Infrastructure acquired with the residents of Fuente Librilla and there have been some work that considerably improve what was there and even improve the projected works."
