The regional government invested 300,000 euros in preserving the architectural heritage of the historic center of Mula (10/10/2010)

Among the restored house is called Casa Azul, a significant example of the type of tower house is common in agricultural area

The Ministry of Public Works and Planning invests 298,368 euros in the restoration of buildings of architectural interest in the regional center of Mula.

The aid is part of the compliance program and restoration of facades and roofs of the regional executive.

According to the general director of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, "is a type of subsidy by the Ministry bet that for some years to contribute to the recovery and conservation of architectural and urban heritage of the region."

There are seven properties subject to this intervention, located in the Furnace Street, Cano, Boticas, Federico Balart, Juan Antonio Perea, the Curtis Road and the road to Caravaca de la Cruz.

These buildings date from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries are listed in the Special Plan of the Historic Center of Mula.

The works consist in the recovery unit and ornamental composition of each of the buildings, the homogenisation of the gaps on balconies and windows, replacement of the lining of the facades, moldings and recerca adjustment and improvements waterproofing and sealing the building.

La Casa Azul

All houses are in the urban environment, except for one of the most unique, located in a suburban estate of Curtis Road.

It is known as the Blue House, by the intense color of the mortar lining their walls.

This is a work of great architectural and environmental interest, in a rustic plot of over 22,000 square meters.

Construction emphasizes its decorative program and a graceful central tower that became one of the most significant examples of the type of tower house, so common in agricultural areas of the county of River Mula.

As highlighted by Antonio Navarro, the Department funds the adequacy and architectural restoration of those parts that have significant value for its intrinsic qualities or the interest of the environment. "
