The Spanish Film Week honors Mula at its XXIII edition, actress Mercedes Sampietro and the late Luis García Berlanga (07/04/2011)

Spanish film screenings and other activities from 10 to 16 April

The XXIII Spanish Film Week Mula, held from 10 to April 16, pays special tribute to the actress, screenwriter and film director, Mercedes Sampietro, who was president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain 2003 to 2006 and noted for his work in theater, film, TV and dubbing.

In addition, the film festival pays tribute this year, in the In Memoriam section, the director and screenwriter, Luis García Berlanga, who died in November 2010.

Attached to the film festival is the National Short Film Competition, which this year celebrates its eighteenth edition.

For the same have been presented 86 short films for competition in 35 mm format of which eleven have been shortlisted will be seen throughout the week before each screening at the Teatro Lope de Vega.

The Audience Award is given to the votes of those attending the film screenings that day, give their assessments of the short cast.

The Youth Award is chosen by high school students of the Institutes and Secondary Education Department of the locality.

The film week also has the issue of a children's movie, "The Treasure of King Midas," which will be screened on Tuesday and Wednesday at 12:00 pm in the Teatro Lope de Vega aimed at primary school in the municipality.

The festival is complemented by the IX Building Research Award and Second Film Chomón for secondary school students and open to all schools in the region.

This contest is based on the realization of a short theme and two minutes for establishing a prize of 500 euros for the authors of this paper as an appropriate media for the school to which they belong than 300 euros.
