Local Management School, attached to the Presidential and Public Administration, now offers a course in management of sites belonging to UNESCO World Heritage in the Region of Murcia.
This initiative aims to promote better conservation and enhancement of the space that houses the Community of Murcia with traces of rock art in the Mediterranean.
The course, a theoretical methodology and practice, attended by thirty people, including mayors, municipal councilors and technical staff whose jobs require or direct responsibility for tourism and culture.
The program, which develops along the Mula today includes a visit to the set of rock art in Milan, located in the same town.
The conclusion of the course coincides with the tenth anniversary of the proclamation as a World Heritage by UNESCO Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula, a cultural complex that includes six regions, among which is the region of Murcia , which has more than one hundred spaces included in this set of special recognition.
The uneven site management affects the preservation and promotion, which has necessitated the holding of this course with the objective of promoting better maintenance of them.
Its contents include papers, communications, and a roundtable with the participation of experts heritage managers from its cultural aspects and tourism, as Henry Ujaldón, Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets, or Carmen Mínguez, Professor of Human Geography at the University Complutense.
