The Secretary of State for Tourism, Joan Mesquida, has today delivered the diploma Mula declaring the "Night of the Drums" celebration of National Tourist Interest in the town Mayor, Diego Cervantes.
This title emphasizes the importance of this event, known as "The Great Night of the Drums of Spain", which dates back to 1859.
Thousands of drummers from across the region beat their drums all night through the streets of the town.
"The Night of the Drums" which brings together national and international tourists, joins the six parties of National Tourist Interest and the Region of Murcia boasts, and involve the international expansion of the culture and traditions of the Community through 32 offices with which Turespaña account abroad.
Spain has 108 parties declared of National Tourist Interest and 36 state of International Tourist Interest, of which the Region of Murcia has 7 National Tourist Interest and 5 International.
This year has also been declared a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest "Feasts Aracelitanas" de Lucena (Córdoba), "The Feast of Entroido" of Verin (Ourense), "The Cipotegato" Tarazona (Zaragoza) and the Vijanera " of Silió (Molledo) (Cantabria).
