Culture restore 26 pieces from the Museum of Art Iberian The Cigarralejo (10/11/2009)

The Director of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage, Enrique Ujaldón, today announced the funerary pieces from the fourth century

affected by the earthquake that struck the town of Mula and have been recovered by the restoration workshop of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia.

There are 26 pieces, among which stand out for their large size, eight ballot boxes from storage, as well as small pieces of iron, bronze, spears and bones, all found in the necropolis of 'The Cigarralejo' and belonging to the museum of the same name located Mula.

The restoration process has been to the polls cleanup using mechanical and chemical processes.

In addition, previous interventions have been removed for restoration and then proceeded to assembly and consolidation of the paintings.

The museum is dedicated entirely to the display of the archaeological collection from the necropolis of El Cigarralejo.

Through a journey of ten rooms, 80 funerary objects are presented chronologically complete.

Simultaneously, each dedicated to one of the main socio-cultural issues of the Iberian world.
