II Conference on Road Safety Education for Primary students in the municipality of Mula (27/01/2010)

In the Youth Center in the town will install a circuit in which young people would learn the rules of the road and learn to overcome daily obstacles

The Second Conference on Road Safety Education in the municipality, aimed at students of primary schools and districts Mula began on day 25 and will last until next March.

Organized by the departments of Public Safety, Education and Youth aim to promote road safety education and attitudes of respect which impact on the prevention of traffic accidents in order that young people understand and appreciate the values and standards of living for learn to act accordingly.

The fact that they are aimed at elementary students is that at this stage is when students begin to use public roads as a pedestrian autonomous and user of transport such as the family car or the bus (in some cases a lesser extent).

Some of the content they seek is the knowledge of the natural, social and cultural movements and means of transport, responsibility in fulfilling the basic rules as pedestrians and users, the importance of mobility in everyday life and respect the rules of road mobility, also identify the causes and risk groups in traffic accidents such as pedestrians, passengers, cyclists ...

The conference will feature two distinct parts, one theoretical and more practical, the latter directed at students in grades 5 and Primary 6.

Support talks in schools and districts of the municipality will be taught by two local police officers, given in Mula 25 January to 25 February.

The practical part is made on the premises of the Youth Centre during the month of March.

There will install a circuit with different standards and circulatory incidents that schoolchildren can be found in everyday life.

Youth will learn to overcome these obstacles doing this bike ride and following the instructions of the agents.

Representatives of Driving Schools of the town have also offered to collaborate with this project both in the talks in schools, as practices in the circuit, visit the Driving and using the same facilities.

This idea has been picked up by the organizers of the conference and will be implemented throughout their development.

In this sense, from the local police demands the creation of a fixed circuit Mula as that used during these sessions is transferred from the General Directorate of Traffic, in order that they can perform activities related to the road safety education throughout the year, aimed at young people.

The Road Safety Education Workshop II will conclude with a presentation of diplomas and prizes for participants of the same.
